About this site and OPAM

This site is the creation of Michigan adopted son Walt Fechner, a late blooming nature lover and amateur photographer. Here you will find not only the latest news from OPAM, the Outdoor Photography Association of Michigan, but nature and outdoor information from Michigan and a few adjacent states. Use this site to get familiar with the great natural beauty of Michigan, and with the magic of outdoor photography.

Founded in 1996, OPAM includes everyone from outdoor enthusiasts with little or no photographic experience to serious naturalists and professional nature photgraphers. We are not a camera club. We have monthly meetings, outings and a monthly newsletter. However, you don't have to be a member to benefit from this site, because we have included a lot of the information members get right here. Plus, we have added much additional information and a ton of links.
